Happy Mom's Day!!

To all my friend’s who are mother’s:  Happy Mom’s Day!  May you be a slug on the couch and have everyone wait on you for a change!  Which is what I plan to do for the rest of the day.  In my family we always do breakfast on major holidays.  This year it was my turn and I went a little overboard:  Frittata with red and green peppers and mushrooms, scrambled eggs, blueberry muffins, biscuits, cantaloupe and grapes, bacon,  and hashbrowns.  Yes, I made it all from scratch with my own two hands!  Hey, I only have to do it a couple times a year, so it’s actually kind of fun for me. 

Sunshine came through with a great prize:  My own tiara and a makeup bag with cherries on it.  She also got me a totally cool card that sings “Sweet Home Alabama” when you open it, which is one of our favorite movies to watch together and wrote the poem below.  Some of the lines most people won’t get, but it’s still pretty damn cool!

Ode to My Mom

Your love of shoes is no mystery.
We all know JumpStart is history.
You work hard and give me everything,
Even when you don’t want to do anything,

You support me even when I think I can’t,
And hear me when I need to rant,
You love me no matter what,
And put up with my Father’s butt.

This mother’s Day I have but one wish,
For today to be great, and perhaps to watch Hitch,
Because everyday you see the princess in me,
So today Princess of Cherries is what I dub thee!
