My Favorite F Word
Okay, first off all, you, over there in the corner, get your mind out of the gutter. Although it is one of my favorite words, I’m not talking about that F-word. No, I’m talking about my other favorite F-word: FREE.
Yes, Boys and Girls, it’s time for another list of Auntie Chelle’s Favorite Things! (Cue drum roll)
Here’s a list of My Five Favorite Things That Don’t Cost a Plug Nickel. And you can have them all too!
5. Irritating your younger brother (or sister), no matter how old you both are. I’m well past adolescence and I gotta tell you, it’s still fun to push my little brother’s buttons. All I gotta say is “Mom said you’d be glad to…” re-roof my house, re-tile my bathroom, pick up Aunt Dotty and take her to the grocery store and out to dinner, etc,. That last one is sure to make him blow a gasket. I’m telling you, irritating your younger brother never gets old, no matter how old you get. And, it’s FREE!
4. Remember the Milk! If you’re looking for a great To Do list tracker, and even better, a Ta-Done List tracker, this one could very well fit your bill. You can track tasks over a myriad of projects, send yourself email reminders, and even send tasks to RememberTheMik. Plus, it’s FREE.
3. Myautobus. This particular website is quite handy. The site lets you upload your documents, for FREE, and even let’s you organize them into file folders. It’s a nice option for anyone who travels, or has documents they want to back up in one more place, just to make sure they’re safe. Very handy.
2. The library. If you haven’t been to the library in the last five to twenty years, then you should give it another try. The library system has made attempts to be more than a place to rent books. If I had to guess, I’d say they’d revamped their mission statement to be something along the lines of: To supply the public with information in any form that information might reside. For example, did you know you could use the internet for FREE? Or that you could rent first run movies for FREE? Yes, all those movies you’re renting from Blockbuster you can rent for FREE at the library! (Not to mention, all those late fees you’re paying could be going to the library to buy more movies you can rent — FOR FREE!) The other thing I love about the library, is that I can reserve books online and the lovely ladies and gentlemen at my branch have them waiting for me when I get there! Really, you should go.
1. Finding the Cheapest Gas! Okay, it’s not exactly news to anyone that gas is out of control. We all know that. But, I found a website where you can put in your zip code and it will tell you what the cost of gas is in the stations around you. Pretty cool! Cheap Gas Here!
And, did you see how I made the weblink’s into words?? I finally figured it out, at least in Scrivener, which is what I’m writing this in. Who knows if it will translate into my blogging software.
And that’s it. My favorite free things, at least for this week.
Happy trails, kiddies. And go find those freebies!
